Some Catching Up

That "Rosebud" baby hat (from the "itty-bitty hats" book) I started back in January. Never again! Too many ends to deal with!

And a "jacket with seed stitch bands" from Debbie Bliss's "baby knits for beginners":

Perfect buttons!

More later . . .

The hat is gorgeous. I can see why you were tempted to knit it. But I also understand about the weaving in bits. yuck. Beautiful colors! What yarn is it?

The body of the hat is Rowan dk handknit cotton, the embelishments are Tahki cotton classic. Great yarns, yes, but I don't think there's anything magic about them in this hat. You could easily use anything else that knit to gauge, if it had the colours you wanted.

What a lovely hat and sweater! I just found your blog and clicked on your link to Debbie Bliss' book for beginners. I am a beginner knitter and went right out and got the book. Will start with a hat but will definitely try that sweater! Thanks so much for the inspiration!
